Horses need to have well-fitting saddles. Fitting a saddle to a horse need knowledge about equine anatomy, and saddle structure. Add to this the biomechanics of the horse and the mechanics of the saddle, and how they mesh.
This is the most comprehensive saddle fitting video I have ever seen. Joanna's explanation of WHY a saddle will or will not fit is what we need to know. There is nothing better than THIS video out there!
I had a saddle fitter to my very high withered TB last evening while (co-incidentally)an equine back expert was at the stables. Saddle fitter was trying to sell me a saddle while the back expert was quietly "tut tutting" in the background. I didn't buy, and am so relieved to find out why they were so unimpressed.Later on she was checking the same lines as in the video. This is great stuff, and will be invaluable in finding the correct saddle. Thank you so much!!!!
